Rehashed run 1817 - Deepavali

Run # 1817
27-10-09
Venue: Hang Jebat Stadium
Depavali Run 2009
Hares: Indian Tribe

The run started promptly at 6 and the GM led the pack out for the first 2 km along the palm road. At which point his shoes hurt his tender feet and he fell back to walk with Twin Towers, who sacrificed her socks for his comfort. Hence there is no description of the checks past number 1, as they were joined before his arrival. It should be noted here that only Utom, Gopal, and Padirajah were representing MIC.

The first check stopped at the top of a palm track, with the trail eventually found, heading back down hill to the main road. At this point Drug Buster and Wonder Woman were passed and never seen again as they SCB’d. After crossing the river bridge and up the main road, the trail jumped over to a newly planted palm field and up the hill. After crossing the ditch, the trail meandered through the shiggy, onto a gated road, which had to be climbed over, and headed towards Krubong.

Big Hendry was trailing, with Big Banana as his good Samaritan escort. As back enders we followed along in the dark, wandering through the city streets, before meeting Dr. Iqbal at the water. Eventually the trail down to the bridge was found and we snaked our way through the shiggy and backfill piles to the run site.
Arriving at the beer wagon around 8 pm we were soundly welcomed by happy hashers. A quick phone call confirmed that Big Banana was successfully carrying Hendry back to the runsite so the circle was started.

As the time was late, it was a short circle, with the GM punishing a few measly sinners; including Ranger as the FRB, Twin Towers as next week’s hare, and then the hares were congratulated for a challenging run.

The On In was held at Sunshine Bar in Melaka Raya. A DJ, excellent Indian food, and cold beer were available for all to enjoy. Other Sunshine patrons got out their cameras to take pictures of the on downs. It should be noted the GM fell in the water, indicating a lack of sobriety. The night closed with all in good spirits and awaiting the events leading up to the Hashloween Run.
