Rehash of run #1811
Rehash of Run #1811
Hare: Lady Gracie
Venue: Gapam
This run was an especially enjoyable treat for me as I had started the day in an 8 am meeting at
The trail started into Gapam via a palm lorry track. As it hadn’t rained, the track was dry and running was easy. Khoo Kah and Marion arrived at about the same time, and we all headed in. At the first bend, Chickadee and Baby Elephant met us, already heading back to handle the attendance list and guard the run site. The trail stayed on track through the rubber and palms for some 3+ km. If there were any checks, they had already been broken, which allowed for a swift pace.
Eventually the trail reached a wide stream, where the path left the lorry track and headed along the stream before veering back into the rubber on a tapper trail. Prior to the turn I met Cocker, Helen of Troy, Bombastic, and some others, all of which were backtracking. It was obvious they didn’t trust the co-hare, (Killer – Crazy Horse) and weren’t taking any chance on the upcoming big loop off the path.
The trail left the stream and passed through some ditches and scrag before re-entering the rubber on another tapper trail. The checks had been joined so it was a nice run back through the rubber estate, though I did pass several tired looking hashers. This lot included Kiasa Lee, Dr. Lingkun, Mother Teresa, and Bugsy Malone; amongst several others.
Back at the run site I was treated to the customary view of Ranger’s backside and opened a cold Tiger.
The circle was short as it was a fairly long run with many late starters. The SCB’s were on-downed along with the co-hare. Next week’s hares – Kiasu Lee and Camel Lok announced the next run to be at the reservoir towards Machap. Directions are to pass through Durian Tunggal, go under the flyover, turn left, proceed past the reservoir, then look for hash signs on the right hand side.
The On In was at New Good World with 4 full tables. It was good to see the Hare, (Gracie) who has been MIA. She is recovering from leg surgery, but was in good spirits. Quite a bit of BS was passed around, details which I will omit under the 5th amendment. All in all, it was a very nice run and dinner, which was enjoyable for everyone.
On On!!!
