rehashed run 1831 - Tok Ai Lim (GM's version)

Hare : Tok Ai Lim
Cohares: Pak Se Kak, Wonder Woman, 4896, Super 69
Runsite: Bertam Setia
Date: February 2, 2010

Warm-ups were led by the GM, who has been missing for many weeks. After stretching, the pack of about 25 hashers headed up a palm road back towards Sungai Udang, led by Gobal.

The paper meandered through the palms, then up across a small band of rubber before arriving at the 1st check. A false trail deadended, at the corner of two impassable fenced ditches. Govind soon discovered the forward path across a steep ditch, dropping directly below a stout barbed wire fence. The front pack of hashers gingerly made their way across and continued on via a wandering trail throught the palms and rubber trees.

The next check was also at a steep drain and the forward trail was announced by Speedy Gonzales. There were no fences at this drain but it did give another prime opportunity to boost the harriets for those fortunate enough to be in a position to render aid.

The trail continued throught the palms with several small hills to climb. Govind, Ranger, and Pandiyarajah had distanced themselves from the rest of the pack by this time and had already joined paper for any remaining checks.

Leaving the palms, the trail cut back across a field of tall grasses and bush, then began descending into the swamp. Several hashers were slimed by the muck and expressed their gratitude to the co-hares.

Arriving back at the vehicles after about an hour to cover the 7 to 8 km trail, I was exhausted. Hendry was at the car, looking like he'd lost a fight with a tiger. Seems he stumbled at the first ditch but was able to recover enough to climb out and get back to the car.

For the 1st time in the four years I've been hashing with Tuesday, the beer wagon was MIA. Seems Mah had bad directions and went to Gapam. 4896 generously produced a case of Tiger which was much appreciated by all the thirsty hashers.

Eventually Mah and the last runners, Peter Loi and Robert Choo, arrived and the circle began. Mah was iced for being late and Bombastic was appropriately punished for meandering around talking on his cell instead of hashing.

Kacang Panjang announced that Sam Prasad's run next week would be at Gapam and the hare and co-hares were cheered and on downed for laying a good run.

Several non-running hashers joined for a delicious ON In at Soon Fong in Cheng to make up 3 tables. Essential hash gear was given to Govind, Super 69, and Gopal by the GM which was much appreciated. After many years of running without one, Tok AI Lim, was given her hash name, Itty Bitty Clitty.

On! On !
